Montego Bay   1987 - February 15th 2003

Montego was a 1987 Thoroughbred gelding that I'd had since I was 13 years old.  He was off the race track in North Carolina, and was a real pain to re-train.  But, he became a puppy dog and I could trust little kids on him with a little supervision.  He was a local champion on the hunter/jumper circuit up to 3' and had free-jumped over 5'.  Aside from his accomplishements, he was my very best friend.  I cannot even remember well a life without Monty in it.

Monty was humanely euthanized at Wild Shamrock Feb. 15th 2003.

Miss Vickie Love  1986 - June 4th, 2007

Vickie was probably the best horse Kate has ever had the pleasure of riding and spending time with.  Serving as a show mount in her younger years, moving into the role of lesson mount for innumerous children through her golden years and finally retiring with us...she has left her mark on plenty of hearts.  Accomplished in the western and english specialties, she was just an outstanding equine partner.

Late in the afternoon June 4th, Vickie was involved in a freak and terrible pasture accident and was disemboweled.  She was euthanized as there was no hope to save her.

Jazer   2001 - March 26th 2005

Jazer was adopted by Ben in 2001 from the Atlanta Jack Russell Rescue.  He was about 9 months old when Ben got him and had been terribly abused.  He and Ben forged such a special bond.  He slept under the covers with Ben every night, went to work with him every day, and learned nearly every trick in the book out of a simple will to please.  Jazer was a super smart dog.  He loved to play with the horses, too.  He was the house mouser and squirrel chaser and just a joy to have around.

Roxy Road   November 1999 - July 2003

Roxy was my baby girl and I miss her very, very much.  She was my first ever "yipee dog" (a pure blooded American Shih tzu) since I've historically had larger working dogs. I was head over heels in love with her cuddly personality and small, manageable size and yet her rough 'n ready attitude when it came to the horses and other dogs.

Herbie  Nov. 2005 through May 2006

Herbie was our first pygmy goat, our little herdsire.  He was a jovial little goat and was a lot of fun to watch and play with.  He passed from urinary calculi, also called water belly.

Violet Maewon  1987 - December 1st, 2006

Violet was a sweet, proud mare.  She won about $8000 on the track before being retired to brood.  We adopted her December 3rd, 2005 from Ohio.  Vi did very well under saddle, altho she never learned to get along with Marcie or Talker and had to be kept separated.  Returning her to work exaserbated some old racing injuries and we could not keep the poor girl pasture sound.  Her euthanasia came as a difficult but necessary decision, she will be missed.
