We are Ben, Kate & Carrie Helms.
Ben is a home theater and automation installer by trade. He also is a natural hoof trimmer and handles all the
hooves at Helmstead Stables. Ben grew up in a hands-on family and learned many handy man things, so he handles pretty
much everything that needs fixing, building, and maintainance around Helmstead.
Kate is a homemaker (ahem...domestic engineer) with a CSR and vet tech past. She has 17 years of experience riding,
breeding, training and showing horses. Her experience with off the track Thoroughbred horses has proved the most fulfilling,
but she enjoys working with all of them!
Carrie was just born May 18th, 2005! Her favorite activities are nursing and playing with her toes right now!
She really enjoys grinning at her dad, too!
Ben and Kate are both native Hoosiers, even though Kate did most of her growing up in Georgia. Ben's family is
scattered around southern Indiana and Kate's is scattered around mid to northern Indiana and southern Michigan.

Stuff We Like
We really like NetFlix.com. We usually watch 2 to 3 movies a week and find it really convenient to just mail them
back. Heck, who needs late fees??
We have really differing tastes in music. Kate's a metalhead and hip-hop gal while Ben's more traditional rock
n roll and country. We do have a few common bonds though and can meet in the middle on it all!
